Rock For People 2009 - Hradec kralove
Huge complex completely crowded...
Cheap food and cheap drinks. Except for water that was supposed to only be supplied by the organization and with a fixed price but in one place I was asked 79 CZK for a small bottle of water. Apart from that everything went amazingly well.
Concerts were (surprisingly) on time with all the stages and consecutive bands this was indeed a very positive thing.
Organization staff when contacted was very helpful and friendly.
Gogol Bordello... this band live is unbelievable! I wanted to see this live for a long time. It was worth the wait.
Placebo... well no "Teenage Angst", no "Burger Queen", no "36 Degrees", no Nancy Boy... but this was not unexpected.
The new drummer suits this band perfectly giving a little taste of time that have past. The band "showed" him off twice and I was wishing for a third. Acoustic set? Maybe... if they break the drummer's arms =)
The man gives new energy to every song and even a "Meds" slower than usual (I like it fast) seemed like a completely different song.
I had good company in this concert that helped make it very enjoyable.
My piç friend Serhat was there and I wish I had a photo.
Let's just keep it in our memories and don't forget the friendly bus driver and the free ride. (I told you we wouldn't charge us you paranoid bastard:)
Met an interesting "character" there. A Czech guy with Polish parents that insisted he was not Czech but Polish. Reminded me of someone I wished could have been there.
Didn't take my camera because they were not allowed in the premises. I saw professional cameras there, but I'm glad I didn't take mine.
Thanks to a very friendly and helpful online staff member, Miss Lucie Cunderliková I got the amazing photos that I will post here.
All of them were kindly provided from the Archive Rock for People.
